Worcester County, located on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, is Maryland’s only seaside county, known for Ocean City’s clean sandy beaches, outdoor recreation, steamed crabs and the famous wild pony herd on Assateague Island State Park and National Seashore.

  • Probably best known for Ocean City; Maryland’s number one premier resort with 10 miles of clean, free beaches. Assateague has been named by Dr. Beach as one of the top 5 beaches on the East Coast.
  • Berlin’s historic district, only 8 miles from Ocean City, boasts an Arts & Entertainment District with many unique galleries and boutiques as well as great eateries.
  • The Pocomoke River State Park offers visitors  a wooded, riverfront setting and rich historical background.

Come on Down Where It's Happening

 John W. Smith was born near Snow Hill, in Worcester County, Maryland on February 5, 1845. He was the the Governor of Maryland from 1900 until 1904.

 John Walter Smith Park, located on Public Landing Road in Snow Hill, serves as the athletic complex to citizens in the central section of the County.  

 This location is where Worcester County Department of Recreation & Parks programming and maintenance operations are administered and where the 2024 Worcester County Fair is taking place.
